The EU Advisory Committee held a meeting at European Sport Platform in Lisbon

Lisbon, Portugal, 14 October 2023

On the 14th of October, the EU Advisory Committee (EUAC) held an in-person meeting on the sidelines of the European Sport Platform conference in Lisbon. The EUAC commenced its new two-year mandate in September 2023. Its primary tasks include acting as a consultative body to the Executive Committee concerning sport-related political matters and contributing to draft papers on legislations and regulations that may have an impact upon sport in Europe.

During the fruitful inaugural meeting, committee members taken up policy topics such as sustainability, the European Sport Model, E-sports, and the EU Work Plan for Sport. These topics were selected for further development over the next two years. Additionally, the committee agreed upon an agenda for the upcoming 10 months, scheduling both virtual and in-person meetings to coordinate the work effectively.

 

The structure of the new committee is diverse and representative of various European countries, with members including Theo Neyenhuis (Chair of the committee, NOC the Netherlands), Pierre-Louis Magnani (NOC France), Rejhan Halili (NOC Kosovo), Petra Gantnerova (NOC Slovakia), Kaisa Larjomaa (NOC Finland), Linda Rombola (OPES Italy), and Tiago Guilherme (ENGSO Youth).
