SHARE 2.0 conference: ENGSO contributes to the Health, and Green and Sustainable Sport Community of Practice
The SHARE 2.0 Annual Conference 2024 took place in Brussels, Belgium, on 11 September 2024. ENGSO Secretary General Sara Massini and ENGSO Researcher Niki Koutrou participated in the conference by joining two Communities of Practice (CoP) - Health, and Green and Sustainable Sport.
SHARE 2.0 is the successor to the SHARE initiative which ran between 2018 and 2023. The initiative aims to structure and strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange on key subjects in the field of sport: access to EU funding, health, innovation, and sustainability.
SHARE 2.0 consists of three Communities of practices (CoP); Health, Green and Sustainable Sport, and Innovation. During the conference, each CoP discussed two different topics:
Health: – Promotion of sport and physical activity across the lifespan (’Lifelong sport’); – Mental health in young adults.
Green and Sustainable Sport: – Turning ambition into action: a toolkit for environmentally sustainable sport in Europe; – Enabling sport organisations in the EU in taking climate action .
Innovation: – Digitalisation as a source of competitiveness in the sport industry; – Supporting scale-ups in the sport industry.
ENGSO participated in two CoPs, Health and Green and Sustainable Sport.
From the discussions held during the conference, the European Commission will compose policy papers that will present the SHARE 2.0 community’s perspective, aligned with the ongoing discussions in the field, scientific evidence, and other details.
