The GAP WOMEN project firmly committed to gender equality in sport and to the inclusion of women belonging to groups at risk of social exclusion (immigrants, refugees, physically/intellectually disabled, mentally ill, victims of gender violence, long-term unemployed, etc.), but also to organisations, federations, clubs and public authorities which need to take on board the commitment to promote sport for equality, social integration, sustainability and economic development.
For three years, partners have worked side by side with European entities to generate practical tools such as an online course and a gender strategies manual. Resources designed to help sports federations and organisations to incorporate the gender perspective into their daily management.
During the final conference, the consortium presented the actions and results of the project, new tendencies in gender equality in sport, good practices and tools to increase the presence of women in the sports field, the online course and the impact generated by GAP women in the local territories and entities.
An Online Course to encourage and equip organised sports clubs and federations to take action to reduce the gender gap in sport
All the resources and the Online Course are available at gapwomen.ufec.cat.
GAP Women will now host a final webinar “Gender equality as a pillar of sport sustainability”, on May 29th, h10-11, to further disseminate the results of the project and talk about the benefits of integrating gender and sustainability perspectives, strategies to promote sustainable and inclusive sports projects, tools and best practices for educating and raising awareness on these issues.
