Olympic Committee of Albania hosts Sports a Value joint action
The Olympic Committee of Albania hosted a joint action as part of the Erasmus+ project Sports as Value, which aims to integrate positive values into sports practice and build a stronger community through sports and promote EU values on the September 30, 2024.
As part of the EU funded project Sports as Value, with a joint collaboration of the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Olympic Committee of Albania implemented a joint action, “The Sports Teams Project”.
The event aimed to promote a healthy sports life, remove young people from bad habits that lead to inactivity in their social life, and help them to spend quality time after school hours.
The mission of this joint activity was also to bring back the sports culture, which promotes a healthy active life, with the Olympic principles, Olympic and sports value as part of everyday life.
In collaboration with 225 elementary and high schools, the program was successfully implemented.
The activity was not only about doing a sport, which is important, but it was more about learning by playing. Learning and living the values of friendship, fair-play, solidarity, excellence on real example – practicing a sport. These values not only apply to professionals but also extend to coaches which are having the great role in the project, to teach them all important values (through the play) emphasizing the importance of integrity, inclusiveness, and collaboration in all aspects of life.
NOC of Bosnia and Herzegovina and NOC Albania were truly happy to be a part of this joint action. Furthermore, this joint action could be a great example for the future collaboration, with a similar projects.
