Marie Denitton elected to the Bureau of the Council of Europe EPAS Consultative Committee
From 27–28 May 2026, ENGSO participated in the Plenary Meeting of the Enlarged Partial Agreement on Sport (EPAS) and the EPAS Working Group on the Autonomy of Sport and Good Governance, held in Strasbourg.
ENGSO was represented by Secretary General Theo Neyenhuis, Office Director Marie Denitton, and ENGSO Youth Committee member Siiri Turunen.
EPAS serves as a platform for intergovernmental cooperation in sport among the public authorities of its member states within the Council of Europe. During the EPAS Plenary Meeting on 27 May, elections were held for the bureau of the EPAS Consultative Committee, which acts as the governing body of the committee.
Marie Denitton, ENGSO Office Director, was elected as a member of the bureau of the EPAS Consultative Committee. Following her election, she was unanimously appointed Gender Equality Rapporteur, a role she has successfully held over the past several years.
Theo Neyenhuis also participated in the meeting in his capacity as a member of the EPAS Working Group on the Autonomy of Sport and Good Governance, which is currently preparing new Council of Europe recommendations on these topics. In addition, EPAS invited youth representatives from organisations represented in the Consultative Committee. ENGSO was represented by Siiri Torunen, member of the ENGSO Youth Committee.
