About UVMIS project
Upskilling Volunteer Managers in Sport (UVMIS) project is focusing on improving volunteer management in sports organisations. The team will develop training and learning resources for current and former volunteer managers in sport, tailored to the diverse needs of different organisations.
Behind every great game, every community sports club, and every unforgettable sporting event stands a team of dedicated volunteers. They are the heartbeat of European sport – passionate, committed, and essential.
But here’s the reality: while sports volunteering remains the largest voluntary movement in Europe, many sports organisations still struggle to attract, train, and retain volunteers. Structural challenges, lack of education opportunities, and informal management practices limit their potential.
On 20 October 2025, the Centre for European Volunteering (CEV) will host a CoP meeting on the topic of “Challenges and Opportunities in Sports Volunteer Management in Europe”.
The aim of the meeting is to hear your perspective on the topic and dive into the mission of UVMIS project to professionalise volunteer management across Europe.
Join the meeting and share your view on Challenges and Opportunities in Sports Volunteer Management in Europe
