A Fairer Coaching partners met in Paris for the third Transnational Project Meeting
A Fairer Coaching partners met in Paris for the third Transnational Project Meeting of the project to discuss last details about the e-learning course for coaches, national workshops and storytelling campaign on positive experiences of fair coaching.
On February 26th and 27th, Alice Milliat Association hosted A Fairer Coaching partners in Paris for the third Transnational Meeting of the project.
Assist (coordinator), ENGSO, The Finnish Coaches Association, The Bulgarian Football Union and ICCE Sport Coaching Europe convened to primarily discuss the last details of the e-learning course that will be soon available in multiple languages: English, Italian, Finnish, French and Bulgarian.
The course, launched a few days ago through a transnational webinar which also welcomed key expert speakers in the discussion on how we can create a fairer, safer, and more inclusive sports environment, aims to empower coaches working in grassroots sports, to promote equality, inclusion, and prevent abusive or discriminatory behaviours in sports.
With the further goal of involving more women in coaching and making sport a supportive space for people with disabilities, the e-learning is composed of six modules.
Through an introduction on developing an holistic coaching mindset, which will guide in acknowledging and supporting the development of the whole person, not just the athletes and their sport profile, the coaches will be able to widen their knowledge and skills in creating a positive relationship, a trusted and safe environment, more equal and inclusive spaces in their work and to have a space of reference for the European legal framework that supports, promotes and defends Human Rights in sports, and not only.
One of the A Fairer Coaching main objectives is also to bring more women in coaching and create more inclusive environments for athletes with disabilities. To do this, the support of international and local organisations, federations and sport entities is crucial and will be fostered by agreements signed with these sport entities, to cooperate and maximise the impact of the course and the project.
The contact making seminars hosted in each one of the involved countries will be complemented by national workshops to present the e-learning, engage coaches, describing its added value. At completion of the six modules, the participants will receive a certificate to recognise the newly acquired competences.
As for the next steps, a storytelling campaign will soon be launched, with the main purpose of collecting and then spreading stories of positive and fair coaching all around Europe. A coach focused approach will be pursued, where coaches, external experts or testimonials will be direct protagonists, with specific attention to give visibility to stories who valorise diversity and equality, motivate and increase the impact to promote the change towards equality.
The last key-action of the project will instead be focused on advocacy work, to involve key stakeholders in increasing women coaches and diversity with a better preparation on disability sport, strengthening connections and commitment in terms of human and financial investments.
