ENGSO staff gathered in Brussels for discussion on development & internal strengthening

On 27 September, ENGSO staff members met in Brussels for a productive and fruitful meeting to strengthen internal ENGSO ties.

In light of recent staff changes, this was a great opportunity for the team to get to know each other and build a basis for European-wide cooperation.

The whole ENGSO team warmly welcomes its Policy and Coordination Officer Elisabeth Strobach, Policy Assistant Nerijus Tabokas, ENGSO Youth Policy and Projects Manager Tiago Guilherme and Visual Designer Camila Sobrino.

The day spent together was perceived positively, especially to work in the newly introduced departments but also to refresh some basics and maintain and develop the high level of activities on behalf and for the member organisations.

Eurostat has just published the figures on employment in sport for 2021 on the occasion of the annual European Week of Sport. In total, there were 1.37 million people employed in the sport sector representing 0.7% of employment in Europe. On a positive note, employment numbers have almost recovered after significantly decreasing during the Covid-19 pandemic and related closures of sports opportunities.

It is striking that the current numbers on employment in sport show that the average person employed in the sport sector is male, aged 15-29 and has a medium education.

ENGSO is pleased to have a team of so many enthusiastic members who represent and spread the values and vision of the organisation.
