Call for experts to join the ENGSO EWS Committee as co-opted members

The ENGSO EWS Committee operates at a strategic level, advocating for equality in grassroots sport in Europe. The Committee advises the ENGSO Executive Committee on equality matters and ensures a coordinated and smooth working procedure in this area. The EWS Committee supports ENGSO’s political work by advancing equality in sport across Europe, serving as a hub for expertise and exchange. It promotes equality at all levels, facilitates dialogue and cooperation among stakeholders, represents ENGSO members’ interests in grassroots sport, and ensures coordination with the International Working Group on Women and Sport in Europe.

Intersectionality

The EWS Committee promotes gender equality through an intersectional approach, recognizing the diversity of women’s experiences and how factors such as SOGIESC, disability, socio-economic status, ethnicity, religion, and migration background shape access to rights and opportunities.

Co-opted members  – experts

The EWS Committee is now searching for experts to fill in the position of two co-opted members. The applying persons should have knowledge of gender equality, especially expertise in the intersectional areas above, and be committed to support the activities of the Committee such as online seminars, communication, European equality policies, strategic documents and conferences. The co-opted persons do not represent an ENGSO member in the Committee.

Meetings

The ENGSO EWS Committee meets in person twice a year, with online meetings held in between. Co-opted members are expected to cover their costs to attend these meetings and, where relevant, represent the Committee at other occasions.

Nomination

Members of the ENGSO EWS Committee are nominated by the full members of the EWS Committee and appointed by the Executive Committee for a two-year term. The term starts from the date of appointment by the Executive Committee.

Applications for a position in the ENGSO EWS Committee (CV, motivation letter and application form) should be sent to: [email protected] at the latest 20 March 2026.
