#15MinOfCHANGE: Small Conversations, Big Transformations

In today’s fast-moving world, it’s easy for grassroots sports organizations to get caught up in the day-to-day. But what if just 15 minutes could spark the change needed to make your organization more inclusive, more sustainable, and better equipped for the digital age?

That’s the idea behind #15MinOfCHANGE — a new campaign that’s here to prove that real transformation doesn’t have to be time-consuming.

What Is #15MinOfCHANGE?

#15MinOfCHANGE is a movement calling on grassroots sports organizations to dedicate just 15 minutes of their regular board or team meetings to discuss key themes of change:

  • Digital Transformation
  • Inclusion & Engagement
  • Environmental Sustainability

These conversations, though short, can have long-term impact—improving how organizations operate, who they serve, and how they grow.

Why 15 Minutes?

Because short conversations can lead to big transformations.

In just 15 minutes per meeting, sports leaders can:

  • Identify opportunities for progress
  • Reflect on challenges and solutions
  • Set the tone for a culture of continuous improvement

It’s about making space—not taking over the agenda.

Our Goals

The #15MinOfCHANGE campaign aims to:

  • Inspire grassroots leaders to regularly talk about digitalization, inclusion, and sustainability
  • Provide actionable resources, best practices, and tools
  • Connect a network of organizations committed to progress
  • Drive cultural change in sport—making innovation part of the everyday

How Did we create #15MinofCHANGE?

The idea behind #15MinOfCHANGE is rooted in the rigorous research conducted during the CHANGE project, co-funded by European Union, which explored the challenges and readiness of grassroots sports organisations across Europe.

Here’s how that insight shaped this campaign:

Research Phase 1: Challenges & Readiness in Grassroots Sport

In 2023, the CHANGE project started by investigating the state of grassroots sport—how organisations operate, what barriers they face, and how prepared they are for change.

Key findings included:

  • Many grassroots bodies lack structured processes to discuss innovation, adaptation, and long-term change.
  • Digital tools and strategies are often underutilized or implemented ad hoc rather than strategically.
  • Inclusion and sustainability are increasingly seen as necessary, but organisations struggle to embed them into governance and operations.

This first phase revealed a “gap” between awareness of the need for change and the mechanisms to enact it.

Research Phase 2: “Mind the Gap” — Deepening the Understanding

In the later phase, titled Mind the Gap (2025), the research dug deeper into how organisations try — or struggle — to bridge that gap between aspirations and practice.

Key insights reinforced and extended the Phase 1 findings:

  • Organisations that succeed tend to embed change into regular routines, rather than treating it as a one-off project.
  • Having small, repeated check-ins or dedicated time for reflection correlates with greater long-term adaptation.
  • Leadership and governance structures often lack formal tools, language, or frameworks for discussing digitalization, inclusion, and sustainability in board meetings.
